The Church Abiding

The Church Abiding

REWRITTEN

I. When father bids his household come
To hear the Bible read,
The children grow up members young,
And into Christ as Head.

Chorus

The church abiding in my house,
O Savior, meet us there!
It pleases us to welcome you
Into our “house of prayer.”
With you each common task avails
Without you every pleasure fails.

I. “Together heirs” of Gods good grace!
“Together knit in love.”
The mother shows obedience,
The key to life above.

I. We’re quickened, raised, and seated now.
“In Christ” together all;
Our house “in order set” for God,
We’re ready for His call.

I. We’re trusting in the precious blood
Shed by our Savior dear;
The Holy Spirit makes us one,
A bit of heaven here.

A church abides within my house.
