“Pharaoh’s Comin! Hide Dat Chile!”
A Skit

Imaginary

Scene: The home of Amram
and Jocelied, when
the soldiers of Pharaoh
are to be seen going
by the house. (They march
back and forth seen through the window)
The room is simply furnished
and filled with servants (slaves),
and the family of Moses.
Armam- the Father
Jocelied- the Mother
Aaron- the “big brother”
Miriam- the “big sister”
Baby Moses, age three months
Everything is tranquil until
Aaron look out the window
and sees the peering soldiers
from Pharaoh’s palace.
“Pharaoh’s comin’- hide dat chile!”
All rush madly about crying
the same thing. Jocelied comes
to the foreground, holding Baby
Moses tenderly but firmly. Asmram
tries to take him, but she
refuses to let go the baby.
