Glory is Ahead

Do we wish to guard the stuff?
Venture some? Gone far enough?
Be not weary doing well.
Glory is ahead! Go tell!

Eyes can’t see the glory just around the bend.
Ears can’t hear the triumph on the other end.
Still true are all the promises by which our faith is fed,
When God shall raise the curtain on
The glory that’s ahead.

We like Christ on day may say,
Victory’s here, and God has sway.
O the glory that is His!
We shall know what Glory is!

Short the time we have to work.
Long to toil, and n’er to shirk.
But in heaven we may sing—
Praise Him then for ev’rything!
